Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide strategic leadership in financial and supply chain management in ensuring financial sustainability of MHSC to achieve its mandate through, amongst others, financial compliance, financial management and reporting and asset management.

Requirements

Qualification

Postgraduate Degree in Finance / Accounting.

Certified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).

Four (4 years) of experience within a CFO role.

At least 10 years’ senior management experience within Finance.

Added Advantage:

MBA/MBL/ master’s in finance /accounting.      

Professional membership with relevant institutions

Preferred Skills

 Develop and workshop procurement practice guide

Pilot the SCM guide as developed through the process mapping project

Conduct monthly reconciliations of control accounts and clearance of suspense accounts

Define financial strategy aligned to MHSC strategy

Define revenue generation streams

Define systems and procedures that will ensure compliance

Ensure MHSC compliance with financial reporting and controls requirements

Promote and ensure compliance with best practice Financial Management and Accounting

standards, regulatory requirements, governance practices and audit requirements in all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensure the implementation of the prescripts of the PFMA.

Provide financial leadership in determining strategic business direction, acquisition, financing and longer term strategies vital to the future performance of the MHSC

Develop relevant policies (accounting, practice notes, etc)

Implement relevant accounting standards and adherence to the PFMA and Tax laws

Measure and report on “Return in Investment” (ROI) in line with resources allocation and

MHSC mandate

Protect and preserve the critical assets of the organisation, through developing an Asset Management Strategy, Policy and Plan

Ensure the timely update and maintenance of the asset register

Ensure effective SCM in compliance with legislative framework

Ensure adequate assessment and mitigation of risk and compliance with applicable Supply Chain Management (SCM) regulatory and/or other legal requirements

Ensure vigorous adherence to procurement plan.

 

Customer:

Facilitate sustainable stakeholder relations, participation and partnerships

Manage relations with banks, mining industry, academic institutions and other stakeholders research service provider within the investment community

Ensure accurate, timely MANEX and CAPEX reports are available to all Cost Centre Managers.

 

Internal business/processes:

Develop and evolve the finance operating model in the Finance Business Unit as the MHSC business model continues to change while remaining efficient and effective

Develop and performance manage human capital within the Finance Business Unit.

 

Learning and growth:

Develop talent management in the Finance Business Unit disciplines as the MHSC business model continues to change while remaining efficient and effective

Identify gaps in competencies and knowledge of financial literacy and discipline in the MHSC and recommend suitable capacitation training

Provide guidance and mentorship to MHSC staff on budget management and financial discipline.
